String instruments require precision, and mastering technique to achieve a great sound quality. Our private lessons give you the opportunity to focus on specific skills such as bowing, finger placement, intonation, and healthy posture. With dedicated practice, patience, and the expert guidance of your teacher, you will develop a solid technical foundation, laying the groundwork for your success.

To start, you will learn how to properly care for your instrument, including how to tune, maintain, and set it up. Your instructor will guide you in holding your instrument and bow, as well as positioning your fingers to maximize comfort and accuracy. You will learn how to control your bow’s speed, pressure, and placement, mastering techniques such as spiccato, détaché, and legato. Through ear training exercises, you will develop a good sense of pitch, helping you to play in tune.

We prioritize making our students well-rounded musicians by focusing on essential skills such as scales, drills, music theory, rhythm, music notation, and sight-reading. You will learn a variety of pieces from different musical genres, enhancing your technical skills while building a diverse repertoire. Your teacher will also help you develop performance skills, including managing stage presence and overcoming performance anxiety, whether you are performing solo or playing with an ensemble or orchestra.
